What can i do with my jet-ski battery?

i recently bought a new jet-ski battery for my sea-doo 1997 bombardier. i hooked it up to my ski and it wont start. i already put in the acid and some distilled water. What can i do? the instructions say you have to charge it before the first use. could i possibly charge it in a store? if so, where?
