What is the canonic basis of "Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults"/RCIA ?

Yes they can, it seems to be a lot to do with the priest, it took me many months, but I know those who were received sooner, you make a valid point, for me it was like trying to get into Fort Knox, it will be interesting to know what the Canon Law requires.
