Trademarking a Name Similar to mine, Question?

While doing research I found a name very similar to the one I had in mind but they're based in a different country. What am I looking towards if I proceed with trademarking the name I "ideally" came up with? Not to leave out I did the TESS and didn't find any trademarking under the name either.
