I have a solution with Lead(II) and Aluminium ions!! how do i confirm their identity!?!?!?

I wanted to give the answer of "ask them", until I read the whole "question". how did you think you would create nitrogen by combining caustic and Al? or caustic and Pb? Try looking at the solubilities of Pb(II) chloride and Al chloride. that might give you a clue (that you seem to be missing).
